Executive Director, Posey County Economic Development Partnership (Mt. Vernon, IN)

The Posey County Economic Development Partnership seeks its next Executive Director to provide leadership and development for one of Southwest Indiana’s most unique counties.  This position is accountable for all aspects of the development of new business and talent opportunities in Posey County along with the retention, support and maintenance of existing industry sectors.   In addition, the position is responsible for developing strategies to create a sense of place so as to retain and attract residents.   Posey County is minutes away from Evansville, Indiana’s third largest city and borders Southeast Illinois.

A vital part of Indiana’s Great Southwest, a four-county region lead by the Economic Development Coalition of Southwest Indiana, Posey County works in partnership with the Coalition and other regional organizations to achieve pre-determined goals and objectives.  Posey County is home to a variety of global businesses along with housing one of the region’s strongest transportation assets, the Port of Indiana – Mount Vernon, the 6th largest inland port in the U.S.

Candidate should have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in business, marketing or a related field with a minimum of five years related experience. A Certified Economic Developer accreditation as well as knowledge of Southwest Indiana business community, government and quality of place initiatives a plus.
