Our organization is assisting the City of Mount Vernon in applying for grant funding for long-term economic recovery assistance to small businesses located within the corporate limits of the City of Mount Vernon.

The City intends to submit an application to the Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs (OCRA) for the COVID-19 Response Economic Development Program grant from the State Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program.  These funds are to be used for community development projects. The grant amount requested is $250,000. There is no local match requirement.

The funds will be utilized to administer grants to businesses in the corporate limits of the City of Mount Vernon that employ at least 51% Low-to-Moderate Income persons in jeopardy of losing their jobs without grant assistance.  The grant funds would provide working capital, funds to continue operations and/or support remote work to the chosen business.
