July 1, 2013Midwest Fertilizer Corp. Pushes Forward
Midwest Fertilizer Corporation is moving forward with their Posey County project as $1.3 billion in Midwest Disaster Bonds were successfully remarketed on July 1st. With the bonds reissued, the project team will focus on permitting as well as its decision on the specific site where the plant will be built. Midwest Fertilizer and Posey County remain positive that the project's remaining details will be tied-up in the next few months and that an official formal announcement will be made in the very near future.
"This project has been a team effort by many, many people in our region; and, will be a game changing investment and employer to Posey County," said John Taylor, Executive Director for the Posey County Economic Development Partnership. "The positive impact felt by a nearly $2 billion project bringing approximately 300 permanent and 400 contract positions along with 2,500 construction jobs will be felt not just in Posey County but the entire region of Southwest Indiana."
