January 1, 2012China strategy being explored
As a charter member of the American China Society of Indiana, the Coalition sponsored its first “How to do business in China” seminar in December. More than 25 participants went through a basic primer on the intricacies conducted by Jenny Massey, Vice President of the American China Society of Indiana and Director of Operations for Bingham Economic Development Advisors, a site selection firm based in Indianapolis.
Doing business in China doesn’t simply mean picking up the phone to call in an order but it takes patience and lots of planning. The Coalition is looking to participate in its first trade mission to China during 2012 with the hope of leveraging the existing relationships between Southwest Indiana companies or universities who currently conduct business in China to forge long-term relationships that can lead to reverse investment.
