January 1, 2012A new path for economic success – the Warrick Wellness Trail

Warrick County, Indiana government officials, along with area leaders, held a ribbon-cutting celebration on December the 9th in Newburgh for the new WARRICK WELLNESS TRAIL medical district. The ceremony was held at the intersection of Grimm Road and the new Warrick Trail along state highway 66, just east of Interstate 164. This follows the recent announcement that TLC Management and Leo Brown Group broke ground in the district on The Village of Hamilton Pointe, a senior living facility which is under construction at this time.
WARRICK WELLNESS TRAIL, a new regional medical district in Warrick County, offers over one million area residents from Indiana, Illinois and Kentucky access to the entire spectrum of medical and healthcare services in one convenient location. Anchored by Deaconess Gateway Hospital, WARRICK WELLNESS TRAIL is a central location for hospitals, specialty clinics, medical practices, retirement accommodations, laboratories, research facilities, and pharmaceutical providers for the tri-state region that incorporates 38 counties. Another major healthcare provider in the area, St. Mary’s Hospital currently has a facility in the region and is expanding.
"I’m very happy to know that the special work that will take place here will help improve health in the entire tri-state region," said Don Williams, president of the Warrick County Commissioners, "plus, WARRICK WELLNESS TRAIL will continue to evolve and help create jobs and a thriving local economy." The Warrick County Council has supported the development, believing that it will promote positive business growth for the area.
At this time, phase one of the district’s infrastructure work has been completed, including street lights, paved roadways, the county’s first roundabout, paved walking, running and biking trails, benches and landscaping, and a four-lane access road with a turn lane. This is in addition to the previous improvements in the area that include a water expansion, sewer extension, the Lynch Road extension, and improvements to Epworth Road.
