Drs. Burkett will staff New Regional Medical Center in Poseyville, Indiana

(March 20, 2017) Poseyville, Ind. Poseyville Medical Foundation, Inc. announces Drs. Chester R. Burkett and Julie Burkett as professional staff for the new Regional Medical Center located at 40 W. Fletchall Street in Poseyville, Indiana. The 3,596 sq. – ft. facility will accommodate the family practice physicians to provide medical services for rural communities in Posey, Gibson and Vanderburgh Counties.
Dr. Chester R. Burkett is from Griffin, Indiana, and a graduate of North Posey High School (1972). He completed his undergraduate work at Indiana State University – Evansville in 1976 and graduated from University of Indiana Medical School in 1980, completing his Deaconess Hospital residence in 1983. He has practiced family medicine in northern Posey County for 34 years.
Dr. Julie Burkett is the daughter of Dr. Chester Burkett and Kandi Burkett. She graduated from Reitz High School in 2006, and completed her undergraduate studies at University of Southern Indiana in 2010. Attending medical school at the American University of the Caribbean and clinical rotations at New York City Bronx Hospital, Dr. J. Burkett is currently finishing her residency at Deaconess Health System in Evansville; and, will join the new medical center upon completion.
Formed in 2015, the Poseyville Medical Foundation, Inc. was created for the purpose of constructing a new medical facility to service the surrounding rural communities of Posey, Gibson and Vanderburgh Counties. The Foundation helped to garner financial support from area residents along with over $135,000 in Regional Cities funding to help complete the $700,000 project which is scheduled to open later this year.
